The AmCham Foundation raised 6,5 million HUF to finance the establishment of new playgrounds in Kolontár and to re-build the gym for the primary school in Devecser.
In October 2010 the red-sludge severely damaged more than 100 buildings in Devecser and Kolontár at Veszprém county. In a response to this tragic event, the AmCham Foundation raised 6,5 million HUF to finance the establishment of new playgrounds in Kolontár and to re-build the gym for the primary school in Devecser.
The ceremonial opening of the newly renovated gym at Devecser took place on May 17, 2012, with the participation of the representative of the AmCham Foundation Mária Gordon, and with local officials and media.
The school used the 4,5 million HUF donations of AmCham member companies to renovate the dressing room, and purchase valuable equipment for the students.
